TAE KWON DO

The name Taekwondo is derived from the Korean word "Tae" meaning foot, "Kwon" meaning fist and "Do" meaning way of. So, literally Taekwondo means "the way of the foot and fist". The name Taekwondo, however, has only been used since 1955 while the arts' roots began 2,300 years ago in Korea. Known as a martial art and way of life, the evolution of Taekwondo was a direct result of the happenings in Korea long ago, and knowledge of the history is an important step in understanding Taekwondo.

At Aim training we study this history utilizing Traditional Taekwondo taught and developed by the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF). We offer training programs designed to allow the student to set goals to achieve each week. The proven Nine Gup (Grade) system molds the student into a Martial Artist that learns how to apply the tenants of Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit. Thus keeping with the traditions of making martial arts a way of life and building a more peaceful world.

People have many different goals when studying martial arts. Some students want to become a great tournament competitor. Others want to learn self-defense.  Others are looking for the exercise and relaxation benefits. At Aim training we will help train you to improve at all aspects of the journey.
